Community Partnerships – Shadowing For Allied Health, Non-provider Careers
Community Partnerships: Community Partnerships | Providence Alaska Medical Center | Providence
Working in partnership with Alaska school districts, colleges, universities and agencies, Providence has created exploration opportunities in non-provider, allied health careers. The Community Partnerships Program serves a diverse population of individuals, from K-12 to post-secondary students, as well as adult learners looking for a career change. Individuals who participate in this program oftentimes go on to pursue careers in health care.
Career exploration opportunities include general job shadowing, school or community-based career presentations, and then selected mentorship programs and work-based learning opportunities through the Anchorage School District and community partners.
Medical Staff Services – shadowing for physicians, advanced practice providers, midwives, PhD psychologists and similar provider careers
Providence Alaska Medical Center offers shadow experience to individuals seeking a deeper understanding of the professional medical field. Email AKMedicalStaff@providence.org for more information and the Student Shadow Application Packet.
