Crush the interview

You’ve done all those things, and now it’s time to say thank you! Sending a note after an interview can be daunting, but it shows you’re interested, serious about the opportunity, and professional. Below is a checklist to help you write a great thank you note.

Checklist for a Post-Interview Thank You Note:

Subject Line: Keep it simple! The subject line just tells what the email is about. If the company is interviewing for many jobs at the same time, include the job title. For example, the subject line of your email could be “Thank you for the Program Coordinator interview.”

Address it to your contact: You’re sending this to the person you spoke with, so address it to them! Use the name that they introduced themselves as during the interview.

Share Appreciation and a Personal Touch: Start by thanking the interviewer for their time and mention something specific you talked about in the interview, like a project or topic. This jogs their memory of your conversation and shows you were paying attention.

Recap Your Qualifications and Value: Remind them how you can help the company or program! Mention something about the job that you discussed and explain again how your experience makes you a good fit. If you don’t have experience, you can talk about your drive or passion.

Mention Next Steps: End the email by saying you look forward to hearing from them and continuing the hiring process.

Sending a thank you note after an interview is a great way to show you care about the job. It helps the interviewer remember you and shows you are polite and professional. Just follow this simple checklist, and you’ll keep impressing them! Good luck with your job search!
